Some context: A.I. is new, and the current image generators aren't very good yet at generating believable hands. The anatomy tends to be aweful and the number of fingers is often incorrect. This cartoon was meant to poke fun at the idea that computers are now ready to take over creative tasks from us.
I think I came up with this idea contemplating how self-reproducing A.I. would look. Back in the 70s/80s90s, artificial LIFE was also about technology self-replicating. You had these cool small computer programs that could generate a copy of themselves. These were cute. But modern A.I. self-replicating? A scary thought.
